Museum Event Friday October 28 11 am - 1 PM
Camron-Stanford House
1418 Lakeside Dr, Oakland, CA 94612.
Take BART to Lake Merritt station.
Private docent tour.
The Camron-Stanford House is the last of the beautiful Victorian mansions that once surrounded Lake Merritt, and was the home to five influential families. The restored home helps visitors time travel to the 1880s and enter meticulously recreated living spaces while learning about the early days of Oakland as a city.
Just for fun, we will also see the Halloween exhibit, "Ghoulish and Ghastly: 19th Century Monsters in Popular Culture". The period rooms will be decorated with Halloween decor.
Our RCSF member Iliana Morton, who is the manager, has invited us to use the veranda after the tour. There will be a self-service tea for our group, and we may order boxed lunch.
It is not ADA accessible. The tour and veranda access does require use of stairs.
Optional boxed lunch (sandwich, fruit, chips, and dessert)
There is a turkey, bacon, Swiss option and a roasted veggie vegetarian option.
